Fireproofing

Fireproofing of structural steel is a life safety issue and one that we don’t take lightly. When considering the possible outcomes of having such a job done incorrectly or hastily, it is simple to come to the realization that a company with decades of experience in the field and business practices to match is a company you want to work with. This part of any construction project is often not a favored one, and we will work efficiently to see that your deadlines are met without compromising quality at any point. Our communication with all parties involved in the project will streamline the process, and our pricing structures are competitive, to guarantee that your project meets budget constraints safely. We use the latest equipment and materials and our employees can maintain small crews to ensure your satisfaction, even on fast-tracked projects.

About this Process

Spray Applied Fireproofing can be installed either as a dry spray application or a wet spray application:

A dry spray application is done with the use of a hopper/blower to convey the material through hoses to a nozzle where atomized water is introduced.  This mixture of material and water is directed at the substrate and applied evenly to the required thickness.

A wet spray application consists of mixing the material with water in a paddle or ribbon type mixer.  The mix is then pumped through hoses to a spray nozzle where it is introduced to compressed air.  The compressed air breaks the mixture into a fan pattern and directs it towards the substrate where it is applied evenly to the required thickness.  This technique is often referred to as “cementittious” due its similarities to cement and plaster applications.
